Although these are clearly good socks, I was disappointed on opening them to see that they were made by Falke - an upmarket brand I could have picked up in my local John Lewis. I thought that everything on this site was of a more artisan/exclusive nature. Why not mentioning the brand name in the description? It would be clearer and more open.

Wool Company Response: Thank you for your review - we always value our customers opinions. We have duly changed the description to include the brand name Falke on these socks. We made the decision at the end of last year to stop selling most of the Falke socks - except cashmere blend ribbed socks and our angora blend bed socks, and to sell only premium fibre socks - hence the introduction of our alpaca and mohair socks. My husband has always hankered after a pair of red cashmere socks, there is something slightly decadent about them and in these austere times they are a luxury which lifts the heart. (Posted on 10/05/2010)
