Price per week: £35.00 including VAT.
Rental is calculated daily and is subject to a minimum rental period of 4 weeks.
Unused rental days above 28 days are refundable together with the security deposit, provided 7 days’ notice if given before satisfactory vacation.
Rental price does not include insurance, lock or warranty.
Deposit: 50% of a four week’s rental on the size of unit you rent. Deposit is fully refundable upon vacation within 28 days of vacating of container, provided it is left in clean and undamaged condition.
Insurance: You must take have your own valid insurance. We will ask for proof of cover before your goods are placed in self-storage with us. Any insurance must cover goods stored in a self-storage facility and must name the company you are storing at, “The Wool Company Ltd”, along with the full postal address of the storage location and must give a sum insured.
Access: We are a small facility and not permanently staffed, but we care about security and our neighbours. Access to site is available from 10 am - 6 pm Monday to Saturday with prior warning, and occasionally outside these hours. Access is subject to a reasonable use policy. If you plan to come and go every day, ours is not an appropriate facility for you. Access on Sundays and public holidays can be arranged by prior appointment, with minimum 48 hours’ notice, agreed in advance.

Rental Arrears: If rent becomes overdue and remains unpaid and overdue for 28 days or more, the security deposit may be forfeit and retained by us and further, the contents of the container may be seized and sold by The Wool Company Ltd to cover all reasonable costs and/or loss of rental.
Prohibited Items
The following items are prohibited from being stored at our facility: -
- Perishable goods or food, unless securely packed such that it is protected from and cannot attract vermin and is approved by us in advance and confirmed in writing
- Animals, birds, reptiles, fish or any other living creatures
- Flammable or combustible materials or liquids such as diesel, oil, petrol, gas, paint or cleaning or other solvents
- Weapons or firearms
- Ammunition or other explosive, flares or fireworks
- Fertiliser, chemicals, biological agents, radioactive materials, or similar
- Toxic waste, asbestos of any kind, polluted or contaminated items
- Commercial waste or any materials of a potentially dangerous or hazardous nature
- Compressed gases
- Items which may emit any odours or fumes
- Illegal, proscribed or contraband items, substances or goods
- Goods illegally obtained
- Securities, bullion or cash

Is there a minimum storage period?
Yes, we have a minimum self-storage period of four weeks.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
Yes, 50% of a four-week’s rental on the size of unit you take on. This is refundable upon vacation within 30 days of vacating, providing you give seven days’ notice of vacating
Do I need insurance?
Yes. Insurance for goods in storage is required at both our internal and external self storage sites. We can provide insurance cover for all our customers or you can arrange your own. If you require this, please give us at least seven day’s warning in advance.
How much notice do I need to give before I can move my goods into storage?
You can move in straight away (subject to availability), on the same day you enquire, or by arrangement, at your convenience. You can reserve your storage unit up to 4 days in advance for free.
What do I need to bring to start storing?
- Two forms of ID, one should be photographic (driver's license, passport etc.)

What can I store? Is there anything I cannot store?
You can store anything, as long as it’s not flammable, perishable, or illegal.
You cannot store gas, any flammable items, fireworks, perishable foods or materials, dangerous chemicals, goods of an illegal nature or live animals or items on the proscribed list.
Do you provide locks?
No. Please bring your own good quality padlock, designed for attachemtn to a container and ensure that you keep at least one spare key. We do not keep a key. You are the only key holder.

Are household goods OK in a container?
Yes. Our self-storage containers are lined with a special paint coating known as Graffo which helps to reduce condensation inside the container.
We do recommend all household furniture have covers to minimise any risk of water marks, and, of course adequate insurance.
What happens if I leave in the middle of a month?
Providing you have given 7 days’ notice you will be refunded the days you do not use.
How do I get my refund?
After you have told us you have vacated we will close the account and your refund will be processed within 21 days.
