Seconds Extra Large Merino Sheepskin

Exclusive to The Wool Company, these seconds sheepskins are extra-large Merino throws in a natural undyed creamy white. Shorn down to 25 mm, the fleece is immensely dense, supportive and irresistibly soft, creating a luxurious and versatile rug or throw that adds fabulous texture to contemporary or traditional interiors. 

Merino sheep are bred for their exceptional fleece, not for meat, and graze freely across vast landscapes in North America, Australia and New Zealand. Their wool is famed worldwide for its wonderful fineness, density and softness, making it one of the most luxurious fibres.

These sheepskins are an indulgent delight to sit or lie on and can give your favourite chair or sofa an instant stylish upgrade. They are also highly valued for their medical benefits: the dense fleece ensures constant air circulation, helping to reduce moisture build-up and ease pressure points, making them ideal for prevention of bedsores for those recovering from illness or in need of long-term comfort. Many customers testify to the “almost instant” relief they provide.

Each piece is high quality, classified as a “second” only for minor blemishes, slight discolouration, or small imperfections such as a bald patch. Every skin is unique, with either a smooth or naturally bunched finish, yet all share the same softness, support and practicality. Product Care

Spot clean or machine wash if needed at up to 30°c on a wool program using wool-recommended detergent.
