Why are our Wool Duvets the Best?
Find Your Sleep Nirvana with our Wool Duvets
You already know that at The Wool Company we're passionate about natural fibres and we believe that wool is the most remarkable fibre of all. Our mission is to turn the world onto the extraordinary qualities and sustainability of natural fibres. We're here to tell you why our wool duvets are the perfect choice for your bedding needs. But this passion isn't just fluffy ideas and woolly thinking. It's based on science.
The Superiority of Wool
Wool is a wonder fibre with numerous benefits that make it the ideal filling for duvets: -
Temperature Regulation
Wool is an excellent insulator, helping to keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It naturally regulates body temperature, ensuring a comfortable sleep environment throughout the year[1].
Moisture Management
Wool is naturally water-absorbant, wicking moisture away from the body (without acquiring odours), and allowing it to evaporate quickly. This ability to manage moisture contributes to its temperature-regulating properties and ensures that you stay dry and comfortable throughout the night - despite your body's own nightly temperature fluctuations.
Hypoallergenic
Wool is naturally resistant to dust mites and mould, making it a great choice for allergy sufferers. Think you might be allergic to wool? Read this.
Sustainability
Wool is a natural, renewable resource that is biodegradable and sustainable[5]. Choosing wool from properly monitored farms supports environmentally friendly farming practices and helps contribute to a healthier planet.

The Wool Company's Wool Duvets: A Cut Above the Rest
When it comes to wool duvets, there are quite a few to choose from. Some of those we've tested are so poor, it's like trying to sleep under a cardboard counterpane - very draughty. Some are so heavy we really struggled to lift them, let alone put them in a duvet cover. Some claim to be wool but upon testing, contained mixed fibres or non-breatheable plastic-based inner casings. None were cheap. Embarrasingly, some of the worst were made in the UK, but most sold in the UK claimed to be made in the UK are actually mostly made in China (even if they use "British Wool"). Picking an authentic quality wool duvet is a minefield.
The Wool Company stands out from the crowd. Here's why our wool duvets are a cut above the rest: -

Unmatched Quality
We are committed to providing the highest quality products to our customers, and we scour all corners of the globe to find them. Our wool duvets are made with meticulous attention to detail and craftsmanship. We source our wool from trusted suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability and ethical practices[10].
Luxurious Comfort
Sleeping under a wool duvet should be a truly luxurious experience. When properly constructed, the fine wool fibres create a soft and fluffy fill that gently envelops your body, providing exceptional comfort and support. The unique 'bodyfit' quilting design of our pure wool duvet ensures that it hugs your body, offering a snug and cosy sleep environment. It has a drape that is second to none. The ideal balance of warmth, drape and weight is incredibly difficult to achieve, but we believe that ours achieve this where all others fail.
Health and Well-being
Wool has several health benefits that contribute to a restful sleep. Its natural temperature-regulating properties proactively help maintain an optimal sleep environment, promoting deeper and more rejuvenating sleep. Our duvets contain no manmade fibre intercasing - unlike most - or mixed fibres, giving the wool a chance to work its magic.
Sustainability and Ethical Standards
We take pride in our commitment to sustainability and ethical standards. Our wool duvets are made in collaboration with our manufacturers in Austria, who share our values on sustainability. The mill is renowned for its very early adoption of sustainable production processes and adherence to stringent environmental standards. By choosing our wool duvets, you are making a conscious choice to support sustainable and responsible practices.
Exceptional Quality, Crafted Abroad
You may wonder why we have collaborated with a foreign company to create our wool duvets. The answer is simply our pursuit of exceptional quality and our aligned values. While we strive to support local businesses and artisans (and by far most of what we sell is British or Irish), we've found that the level of craftsmanship and technical expertise required to produce duvets of this superior quality was - very sadly - unmatched by any UK manufacturer. Our wool duvet partner is renowned for its excellence in the industry, crafts every aspect of the duvet 'in-house,' from yarn to weaving the fine cotton casing, from processing the 'greasy wool', to quilting and finishing the duvets. Their independently audited and proven commitment to sustainability, award-winning environmental practices, and stringent quality control aligns perfectly with our own values. By collaborating with them we ensure that you receive the very best quality product, that is ethically produced and environmentally responsible, long lasting and guaranteed to give you many good nights’ sleep.
A Treat for Body and Soul
The unrivaled comfort, exceptional quality, and sustainability that our wool duvets offer are a treat for body and soul. Treat yourself to so many better nights of deeper, longer sleep and discover the difference that a blend of the world's finest natural fibres and mankind's ingenuity and technical resourcefulness can make.
