The Winds of Winter

The Winds of Winter

As autumn draws to a close for another year, the landscape is now (almost) entirely stripped of its vibrant colours, replaced with the quiet serenity of winter - that's the case in Bodmin, at least! If you’re anything like me, the short days and crisp chill in the air both take some time to acclimatise to.

Of course – the new season brings with it the holiday festivities – a time for families to come together and reminisce on old times, share new memories, and argue over the Christmas dinner.

And as the flocks of loved ones enter your home, the age-old question arises: to heat or not to heat?

The quandary is especially relevant this year, as two thirds of us are worried about rising heating costs as we enter the coldest months of the year. Luckily, the Wool Company is here to save you having to take out a second mortgage for those wanting to keep warm this winter.

Warmth in Style

100% Mohair throw lightweight super soft & warm vibrant orangey-pink tones with a soft fringe edge 122 x 183 cm

Our Mohair Throw: A statement piece for the in-laws

During this time of year, there's nothing better than sticking on a film, sinking into a comfy chair in front of the fire with a whisky (or even a whiskey), and wrapping yourself in a warm mohair throw.

Our superb quality throws are perfectly thick and soft, and are a real statement piece. Mohair is known as the 'diamond fibre' due to its strength and durability. It is lightweight, extremely warm, and beautifully soft and gives instant heat - ideal after a frosty morning walk.

Struggling to Sleep? Don't Count Sheep - Get Cosy!

Warm without the weight: Traditional pure new wool blanket

In the classic festive tale, White Christmas (1954), Bob Wallace famously remarked: “If you’re worried and you can’t sleep, count your blessings instead of sheep. Then you’ll fall asleep counting your blessings.” Good advice - but our blankets help, too.

The Wool Company's top-selling wool blanket features pure new wool woven with a cellular weave for warmth without heaviness. Made in Yorkshire, these lightweight blankets are ideal for the colder months. The cellular weave traps air, ensuring warmth. They are elegantly finished with a wide, satin-style ribbon trim on all sides.

We wager that it's so cosy, waking up at 6am on Christmas morning to open presents will be a thing of the past.

A Little Extra Warmth

As the days become even colder and darker, its important to remember what the impending holiday season brings: joy, appreciation, warmth, and comfort.

Coincidentally, our blankets and throws provide a similar sentiment.
